Classes Move on October 5 2020 According to DepEd Sec. Leonor Briones
The Department of Education has withdrawn the start of classes in private and public schools, instead of on August 24, it will be moved to October 5 to return to school, it is because of MECQ in Metro Manila and other provinces, that is the reason why the classes is moved.
Just yesterday, Education secreatary Leonor Briones seemed unmoved about the start of the school year this year. She said yesterday (Leonor Briones) that the class will continue on August 24, but she changed it earlier and it will move on October 5, 2020.
It is scheduled on October 5, 2020 the return of classes to public and private schools, which is said to be in accordance with President Duterte's order, and is based on Briones' recommendation on August 6.
It is scheduled for October 5, 2020 to return to public and private schools, which is said to be in accordance with President Duterte's order, and is based on Briones' recommendation on August 6.
Here is the statement of Department of Education Secretary Leonor Briones:
"Last August 6, I submitted to him Last August 6, I submitted to him a policy analysis of implications of the imposition of Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine, we recommended October 5 in recognation of need to make this adjustment"
Briones explained that the class opening was postponed for students from the provinces of the Modified Enhance Community Quarantine which represents almost one third of the student population in the country, also because of Modified Community Quarantine (MECQ) the movement of teachers and staff of Department of Education is limited.
And there is a problem with the production of learning modules, but in areas where there is no Modified Community Quarantine, the orientation and dry run of the school will continue.
But why is October 5, the chosen date?
Here is the explanation of Sec. Briones, "We calculate that, actually the demand for example of region 4 is Until September 7, then the NCR demanded one more week, but we think it is good when we give an allowance it might be doubtful if we only have 1 month to improve COVID-19 situation, we really eased that.
All public and private schools except the schools under the universities and the Commission on Higher Education or CHED will obey the order.
What about the private schools that have already started classes?
Here is also the explanation of Sec. Briones "I believe that they are doing well with the support of the local government and it would be a pity if we stop them, the ones that have not started at the same time and the ones that are really big have to be fixed properly".
The opinion of some parents as well as some teachers in the decision to move the class is divided, here below is the opinion one of the parent in favor of the decision of DepEd, "As long as they think for the health of the children there is no problem, no matter what the date.
Also the Parent opinion not in favor; "You should continue with that, because it's the same, even if you adjust it the same way, right? so it would have been earlier on August 24, it's ok because like us we are ready".
According to Alberto Muros teacher and Faculty President of Laong Laan Emelentary School "The readiness is not enough, the truth is that our module is not complete yet".
Many teachers were shocked by this news, especially distant teachers. Many parents also say that it is better because it is for the benefit of every student, education can still be seen but life is no more.
